Sofia Silva

Sofia Silva, nasceu em Lisboa,  Coreógrafa independente, dirige projecos artisticos e aulas de dança contemporânea Iniciou a sua formação em Dança com Paula Careto e na Escola de Dança Rui Horta. Licenciou-se na Escola Superior de Dança de Lisboa em 1999. Realizou workshops com: Clara Andermatt, João Fiadeiro, Paulo Ribeiro, Francisco Camacho, Bernardo Montet, Pedro Berdayes, Dieter Heitkamp, Tere O’Connor, Nigel Charnock, Ramon Oller, Javier de Frutos, Catherine Diverrés, Wolfgang Mass, Samuel Western, Donna Uchizono, Martha Moore, Wilson Domingues. Foi participante no “Danse Bassin Méditerranéen” em Lisboa. Frequentou os cursos: “ Sensibilização à Arte Moderna e Contemporânea” no CCB, “Pensamneto Critico Contemporâneo” na UNIPOP, “Introdução à História da Arte” na Ar.Co,” Financiamento a Organizações e Projectos Culturais” na Suggestus e o “Ciclo de Dança Teatral do Sec.XX”, dirigido por José Sasportes. Trabalhou como coreógrafa convidada em 2000 para a Escola Superior de Dança. Apresentou espectáculos  em  Portugal, Holanda, Espanha, Escócia, Luxemburgo e Palestina, destaca: 2001 Porto Capital Europeia da Cultura; Edinburgh Festival Fringe – Escócia, 2005;  Escena Contemporánea – V Festival Alternativo de las Artes Escénicas – Espanha, 2005;  2007 Luxemburgo Capital Europeia da Cultura; Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival – Palestina, 2008.  Colaborou em projectos transdisciplinares nas áreas das Artes Plásticas – “Como podes ver o meu movimento, se ele não é Perceptível ao olhar” (2011) com Rochelle Haley; Fotografia – ” Exposição Pina Baush” (2012) e “Tempo do Corpo”(2013) com Pedro Barão da Cunha; do Cinema – ” Antes de Existir” (2016) com Luís Piranha Gonçalves;  do Teatro  – ” Début”(2013) e Noir ( 2018) com Alexandre Lyra Leite/Inestética, da Música – ” Trípitico” (2020) com Carlos Marecos .

Sofia Silva, an independent artist, works as a freelancer choreographer in collaboration with other artists.

Her language is based on an observation and reflection of her true and false self and her relation to the inner analysis of thinking and feeling in dialogue with the other. Working the construction and deconstruction of values, beliefs, masks, to create specific universes. From a sensitive field, she transports her universe to a work that extends to aesthetic plastic at the level of the Body and Space.

she has shown her work in Portugal and abroad in collaboration with spaces, entities and people. She has performed in Portugal, Holland, Spain, Scotland, Luxembourg and Palestine, including 2001 Porto Capital European Culture, 2007 Luxembourg European Capital of Culture and Festivals. Worked as a choreographer invited in 2000 to the School of Dance. In 2007 she was one of the founders of the PAC / Miner.Ponto.Va project. In 2014 he founded the “Create a Collaborate” project in collaboration with other artists.

Conducted workshops and classes in different locations; ACCCA, ACT, Sintra Dance Academy, ArtMove, Bomb Suicide, Belém Cultural Center, Chão de Oliva Cultural Diffusion Center, Contemporary Portuguese Dance Company, Caldas da Rainha Vocational Dance School, Inestética Companhia Teatral, Pró.Dança ,Teatro Extremo and Visaginásio.
